A new innovation lab within United Playgrounds

MACH8 is a freshly launched label under the United Playgrounds umbrella (alongside Verve, Fitzroy, DNZ and 100procent) and serves as the group’s innovation hub. After a year of working behind the scenes, the team led by Eelco van de Wiel is now officially live, creating, experimenting and productizing Gen-AI solutions and cutting-edge technology for clients such as KLM, McDonald’s, War Child Nederland, HEMA and more.

A name designed for speed, scale and infinity

Globrands crafted a name that captures ambition, speed and limitless potential. “MACH” evokes high-speed movement, referencing the speed of sound, and signals engineering precision. It also draws on the German verb machen, meaning “to make,” connecting to “machine” and “machine learning.” This shows that MACH8 doesn’t just experiment, but it builds, prototypes and productizes. The “8” symbolizes infinity (∞), representing boundless innovation and continuous evolution. Together, MACH8 is concise, bold, globally accessible and deeply meaningful.

Bold, sharp and internationally accessible

With just five characters, MACH8 is easy to say and remember across languages. The typographic inclusion of the “8” gives the brand visual and digital personality and reinforces its positioning in high-tech and future-facing innovation.

MACH8 has been established with its own identity and the domain mach8.io is live, signalling readiness and credibility in the innovation market. As the innovation lab of United Playgrounds, MACH8 is positioned to scale and lead new-tech initiatives.
