In the context of our GNN (Global Naming Network) meeting which is taking place in Amsterdam this year, you are invited to an expert session on naming in China.

The intimate session, limited to 10 participants for high involvement, will be led by our GNN partner Vladimir Djurovic, director of Labbrand in Shanghai. Labbrand is the largest brand and naming agency in China with over 80 employees serving clients like Airbnb, Volkswagen, Unilever, Disney, Philips and L’Oreal.

Vladimir will discuss some recent naming and branding cases and will answer questions like: Can you enter the Chinese market with your (Western) brand name? What auditory meaning does my brand name have in China in English and in Chinese and what are the consequences? How can it be translated into Chinese characters, how does trademark law work in China and what else would we need to keep an eye on? In addition to examples and practical tips, participants’ own cases will be discussed.

The session is for free and space is limited to 10 people. So if you would like to participate, apply quickly.
